Hello I wanted to document my build of a AA Solo 100. I am an expierenced amp builder but I have never built a Soldano before. This seemed like the perfect amp to try one of AA's PCB's out on.
Using for this build:
C3 Chassis
Hammond 1750D 100w 2.3k Output transformer
Onetics SLO 100 Power Transformer
Hammond 193J 10H 200MA choke
BOM listed on this site with following modifications
Sprauge Oragnge Drop .022 passing capacitors
Mojo CTS style pots
neutrik Combo slave jack. XLR TRS 1/4" ( H1750D has a Balanced feedback tap on the transformer, want to try with cabinet IR's direct into DAW))
Started it this week just waiting for all the rest of the parts to arrive!
Cheers
DEXTER
nice build! I got mine finished and it sounds great! unfortunately it is stuck on the overdrive channel... I noticed you have a red jumper wire on top of the board what is that for?
I love my Soldano build, honestly love to play it more than my Dumble 102 build. I am running delay and trem pedals through the FX loop, amazing. It's going into a a Jenson Blackbird, that helps. It sounds exceptional. The Dumble is mind-blowingly flexible with unique and great sounds with every switch and knob. But they say the pub doesn't need to pour 10 different great IPAs, it just needs to have the one IPA you like. I like the Soldano. Mine uses Nichicon and Vishay caps, Hamond Transformers and the C3 chassis. I can run 6L6 or EL34 with the flip of a switch (50W only). Very much into the EL34s right now.
any tips on posting photos? doesnt want to upload from MAC os?
