Hum Vibrato / Trem Deluxe reverb

Hi,

Is some one familiar with the hum for the Vibrato / Trem on F.ender Reverb PCB 4.0.

I have a hum when i switch the Trem on. Reverb is clean and quiet, amp is hum free and quiet.

It s a loud hum when i switch, with a 2 button switch the Vib on.

If this sounds familiar to you, please let me know. Suggestions, Tips let me know. Thnx in advance. Henri

An update. The 60 cycle hum is gone. I changed some grounding s. Also the PT was responsible for hum. One bold from the 4 off the PT was a bit loose. Then the ground shutting motorboating hum in the Trem - circuit. Alle measures and routings were good. After resoldering some main point s in the Trem-circuit , tadaa. Solved. I think or the .001 cap had a cold solder , or 1 leg from the LDR , which goes to ground had a cold - solder . So such a nice beautiful amp for some good blues rock southern rock

Looking for VOX AC30 bare chassis for FOX30 PCB.

Hi, my 1st post here. I'm in Canada and just ordered the FOX30 PCB, and I'm wondering where i can purchase a bare chassis for this build. I order a lot of stuff locally out of Toronto, and also the U.S., but I can't find a chassis this side of the Atlantic. Anyone have a lead on where I can purchase one from plz??

welcome. Be careful when ordering a chassis from the US, our government is nailing us hard these days. Anything steel it seems.

Not on this side of the Atlantic, but have you heard of Modulus Amps? I've had good service from them on chassis and face plates. Shipping is not expensive and things come quickly.

FOX 30

Has anyone had any luck ordering parts for this board using Beta version spread sheet.

I'm having trouble sourcing JP1-JP4 on this spreadsheet. Also, they are not shown on the schematic or on the Layout. I have an mail in asking for clarification from Dr. Andrea and for any help he can give us.

Hi I'm about to melt some solder on a DC 30 build and would like to hear from anyone who has built one. Any suggestions or advice about avoiding problems or getting great sound or any other aspect of building one of these will be most welcome, I have already read a suggestion to get the 10watt resistors off the main board to avoid cooking the board which sounds reasonable, Ill set these on tag boards. I'll be using all Hammond transformers 1750TB, 290MAX and 194E The other suggestion I have heard is to shield the OT to stop the ef86 oscillating, easy enough to do

Thank You in advance

Tim

I’m still in the planning/ordering phase, so other than saying I’m interested in seeing how your build goes, I have a couple of thoughts I’d like to put out there for others considering this build:

  1. Consider using stand-up style transformers. Given the large footprint of the PCB and the number and placement of the tube sockets, you may not be left with much room in many enclosures. I ended up buying Heyboer transformers, which are lay-flat, and from a rough sketch I can already tell things will be tight. That’s a bit of a regret, as I think I may have to elevate the board. Oh well.

  2. Consider increasing the 100 ohm screen grid resistors to 1K, 2/3 W. Current-production EL84s aren’t the most robust tubes out there, and this adds a bit of extra protection at minimal (if any) cost.
